Open Repositories 2012 Update: Early Booking Rate Extended

Edinburgh, Scotland We are counting down to the Seventh International Conference on Open Repositories (OR2012) on 9-13 July, 2012 and are delighted to announce that we are able to extend the Early Booking rate until Monday 18 June. The Early Booking rate is £295 with a full-price rate of £350 thereafter. There is also a day rate of £115.

World Bank Launches DSpace "Open Knowledge Repository"

Ithaca, NY The World Bank recently announced adoption of an Open Access policy thereby joining institutions, organizations and advocates around the world who are making research outputs broadly accessible. The policy will go into effect on July 1, 2012.

London, UK Open access publisher BioMed Central presented the Open Access Advocate of the Year award at their recent 6th Annual Research Awards ceremony held at Emirates Stadium, UK on Thursday 17th May. Dr Helena Asamoah-Hassan, University Librarian of the Kwame University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana and a Fellow of the Ghana Library Association was only the second individual winner of this prestigious award.

This Month's DuraCloud Brown Bag Topic: Content Health Checking

Ithaca, NY The DuraCloud team will host the third in a new series of web events to familiarize customers and the general public with DuraCloud features this Wednesday, May 30th at 12:30pm ET. Wednesday's brown bag session will detail the content health checking capabilities in DuraCloud, how they automatically run over your content as it is stored in DuraCloud, and how you can access the health reports directly from the online DuraCloud dashboard.
