DuraCloud Now Available as Open Source: Preservation Support and Access Services Built on Cloud Infrastructure
The DuraSpace organization unveiled the open source code for the new DuraCloud platform, a hosted service and open technology that makes it easy for organizations and end users to use cloud services, at the Fifth International Open Repositories Conference (OR10) in Madrid, Spain last month. DuraSpace is making the DuraCloud open source code available to enable the community to create new software and services that integrate with the core platform. Read the post. Related link.
DuraSpace Launches New Service Provider Program to Support Open Source Software
The DuraSpace not-for-profit organization announced its new Registered Service Provider Program to establish partnerships with companies that provide support services to institutions using the DSpace and Fedora digital repository software. Read the post. Related link.

DuraSpace Recommends DSpace & Fedora Integration Initiative
At the Fifth International Open Repositories Conference held in Madrid July 5-9, 2010, DuraSpace recommended that the DSpace and Fedora communities investigate strategies to allow DSpace software to run “on top of” the Fedora platform. Read the post. Related link.

Webometrics Repository Ranking July 2010–41 DSpaces in Top 100

BibApp 1.0 Now Available
BibApp, a campus research gateway and expert finder, released version 1.0 of the software in July. BibApp matches researchers on campuses or research centers with their publication data, and mines that data to see collaborations, create visualizations of areas of research, and find experts in research areas.
