DuraSpace Launches 2012 Community Sponsorship Program
The DuraSpace organization announced the launch of the 2012 Sponsorship Program encouraging users of DSpace, Fedora and DuraCloud open source technologies for digital preservation and access to invest in radical collaboration by becoming DuraSpace sponsors.
Preservation and Archiving Special Interest Group (PASIG) News and Upcoming Events
The PASIG will now be co-operating with the American Society for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T!) ASIS&T will support PASIG on providing administrative services such as the mailing list, conference management, webinars, and website management.
World Bank Launches DSpace "Open Knowledge Repository"
The World Bank recently announced adoption of an Open Access policy thereby joining institutions, organizations and advocates around the world who are making research outputs broadly accessible. The policy will go into effect on July 1, 2012.
The CLIF Project: Fedora Repository as Part of the Institutional Technical Landscape A recent article describes a literature review undertaken with Library and Learning Innovation (LLI) at the University of Hull and the Centre for e-Research (CeRch) at King's College London, and subsequent trial integrations of Fedora repository software with SharePoint, and Fedora repository software with Sakai. This two-part approach formed the basis for the JISC-funded CLIF (Content Lifecycle Integration Framework) Project.
