Ithaca, NY The Irish Virtual Research Library and Archive Project (IVRLA, http://www.ucd.ie/ivrla/main.html) is an Irish government funded project based in University College Dublin. The Project is a component of the research program of the Humanities Institute of Ireland (UCD HII, http://www.ucd.ie/hii/). Its aims are to support leading-edge research by enabling access to digitized content, and to undertake direct research on digitization and digital repositories.

Ithaca, NY Earlier this spring a group of Fedora developers and “committers” (those who contribute open source code to help improve Fedora repository software for the entire community) gathered in London for two-day, face-to-face talks around high priority issues that had been jointly identified by attendees prior to the meeting. Content modeling architecture, module architecture, storage and interfaces were key agenda topics that were introduced by developers who presented their investigations and thinking on each topic area.

Ithaca, NY The DSpace team announced today that an updated DSpace Demonstration Repository running DSpace 1.6.0 is now available for the community to use.  The DSpace Demonstration Repository is a good place to run demonstrations, or to use as a sandbox for testing DSpace software before installing it.
