Austin, TX  The LYRASIS and DuraSpace Boards announced an "Intent to Merge" the two organizations in January. Join us for the second session of the CEO Town Hall Meeting series with Robert Miller, CEO of LYRASIS and Debra Hanken Kurtz, CEO of DuraSpace. Robert and Debra will review how the organizations came together to investigate a merger that would build a more robust, inclusive, and truly global community with multiple benefits for members and users. They will also unveil a draft mission statement for the merged organization.

DeKalb, IL  On April 22, 2016, the Digital POWRR team will be conducting a FREE, day-long workshop at the Arkansas Studies Institute in Little Rock, AR entitled From Theory to Action: A Pragmatic Approach to Digital Preservation Tools and Strategies. This full-day workshop is made possible in part by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities: Exploring the Human Endeavor.

January 27, 2016, Atlanta, GA - The Boards of LYRASIS and DuraSpace, two leading member-based non-profit organizations serving libraries, archives, museums, as well as the broader scholarly, cultural heritage and technology communities, have unanimously approved an "Intent to Merge".

Ann Arbor, MI  The Digital Preservation Network (DPN) is pleased to announce that Figshare, a platform that supports the management of research content, is the first research data repository to join the DPN Federation. Research data made public on Figshare will be deposited into DPN, a dark archive that preserves scholarship for future generations. Reading long emails went the way of the dinosaurs as rich media viewed on our phones became the way many of us access news and information. DuraSpace has joined the fray by establishing the DuraSpace Quickbyte video series on YouTube.
