DuraSpace recommends DSpace & Fedora Integration initiative

At Open Repositories 2010, DuraSpace has recommended that the DSpace and Fedora communities investigate strategies to allow DSpace software to run “on top of” the Fedora platform. The goal of the initiative would be to add an option to install the DSpace application with “Fedora Inside”.

DuraCloud Demonstration at OR10

Madrid, Spain Lead DuraCloud developers for DuraSpace Bill Branan and Andrew Woods will offer a demonstration at 5:15 to 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium at Palacio de Congresos during the Fifth International Conference on Open Repositories (OR10). The demonstration will follow a presentation by Michele Kimption, “Integrating Your Repository with Cloud Infrastructure–Benefits and Challenges Identified in the DuraCloud Pilot Program.”

Put Your Oar in the Water: Get Involved in Fedora 3.4 Development

Ithaca, NY Steve Bayliss, Fedora 3.4 release manager, has announced that scheduling and planning for the next minor release of Fedora, version 3.4, is currently underway and reminds the community that their participation and feedback are vital to ensure that Fedora continues to meet the needs and objectives of its users. A beta version of Fedora 3.4 is scheduled for release in time for the Fifth International Open Repositories Conference that will be held 2010 in early July in Madrid.
