For Your Repository Viewing Pleasure: Harvard Library Digital Collections

Ithaca, NY The libraries of great institutions of learning often house widely accessible digital collections alongside valuable physical collections. It is therefore no surprise that Harvard University Library features a remarkable selection of 33 web-accessible collections available online in words, images and annotations transporting web travelers to past times, taking them on esoteric adventures, and presenting them with varied scientific and cultural information.

Announcing DSpace 3.0 and Changes to DSpace Release Numbering

Ithaca, NY I'd like to formally announce a change to the DSpace Release Numbering Scheme, as well as the upcoming 3.0 release.

In the past, we have had a "three-tiered" numbering scheme ([major].[minor].[subminor]), e.g. 1.8.0, 1.8.1, 1.8.2. However, over the years, we've heard feedback that this numbering scheme could be confusing, as it was unclear which releases contained brand new features and which releases only contained bug fixes.
