Ithaca, NY Comic books and graphic novels–picture books for adults–have come a long way. Although “Archie” comic books of the 1950s era were reflections of current popular culture themes, newer varieties are complex blends of social commentary and evocative graphic representations that speak volumes using words and pictures to make the whole truly greater than the sum of its parts.
