From the DSpace 3.0 Release Team

We thank you all for your great feedback during the first round of the DSpace 3.0 Test-A-Thon! You have helped discover many bugs, some of which we have already fixed. Since we have so many great new features in 3.0, we decided to give it another round of public testing to help make it to the final 3.0 release without any significant bugs.

Boston, MA  Since 2009 when the MIT Faculty Open Access Policy went into effect more than 7,000 MIT faculty papers have been made openly available from DSpace@MIT. The articles have been downloaded over 630,000 times by visitors from all over the world.

DSpace Development never stops! DSpace 3.0 is almost here, and with it arrives numerous new features, improvements, bug-fixes, changes, etc.

We ask that you take a few minutes of your time in these coming weeks to help us fully test this new release! We want to ensure that we are maintaining the same level of quality that you come to expect out of a new DSpace release. We'd also love to hear your early feedback on 3.0!

Honolulu, HI  The Winter 2013 APAN/ESnet/Internet2 technical meeting, known as "Techs in Paradise" or "TIP," hosted by the University of Hawaii Mānoa, from Saturday, January 12 through Friday, January 18 has issued a call for proposals. Abstracts are due on Sept.

DuraSpace was represented by staff and community members at the Seventh International Open Repositories Conference held in Edinburgh, Scotland July 9-13, 2012. The following strategic overviews and links to slides and videos are provided for those who were unable to attend the conference.
 

Stellenbosch, South Africa Registration is now open for the Berlin 10 Open Access Conference, to be held at the Wallenberg Research Centre, Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study (STIAS), Stellenbosch, South Africa November 7-8, 2012. Registration is also open for Pre-conference Workshops to be presented on November 6, 2012.
