Boston Library Consortium Highlights Open Access Issues at Sloan Summit II

Boston, MA In January, the Boston Library Consortium hosted “Sloan Summit II: Open Access – Mission and Mandate,” at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.  The Summit program provided an opportunity for University administrators, especially provosts and vice presidents of research, and Boston Library Consortium (BLC) members to explore open accessissues and determine appropriate activities for their institutions.

Making the SWORD Deposit Picture Clear

Ithaca, NY The SWORD (Simple Web-service Offering Repository Deposit) protocol was developed in to 2007 make it easier for institutions to deposit research outputs in institutional repositories. In the Jan/Feb issue of D-Lib Magazine authors Stuart Lewis, The University of Auckland Library, Pablo de Castro, GrandIR, and Richard Jones, Cottage Labs present nine use cases identified by the SONEX and SWORD projects in an article, "SWORD: Facilitating Deposit Scenarios".
