2013 DuraCloud Brown Bag Series Kicks Off February 27th

Winchester, MA The DuraCloud team will host the first brown bag session of 2013 on Wednesday, February 27th at 12:30pm ET. February's brown bag session will detail the ways in which the Preservation subscription plans differ from the Enterprise subscription plans, specifically highlighting the differences between features and price as well as the types of use cases that are best suited for each subscription plan option.

Winchester, MA  COAR (Coalition of Open Access Repositories) Executive Director Alicia Lopez Medina recently conducted a video interview with DuraSpace CEO Michele Kimpton to learn more about DuraCloud, and plans for DSpace and Fedora development in the next year and over the next three years. She also asked Kimpton for her views on major driving forces in Open Access repository development and more.

Washington, DC  A Research Data Management Implementations (RDMI) Workshop funded by NSF will be held March 13-14 at the Westin Hotel in Arlington, VA in conjunction with the Spring Coalition for Academic Scientific Computation (CASC) Meeting (http://www.casc.org).  Registration information and a call for position and experience papers will be available soon.

DuraSpace at the CNI Fall Member Meeting

Winchester, MA  Heavy fog over Washington caused several attendees to miss the start of the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI) Fall Member Meeting held on December 10-11, 2012. Clifford Lynch, CNI Executive Director, began with an overview of strategic CNI activities in which he reminded the audience that "Scholarly practice does not stand still". This set the stage for several DuraSpace-related presentations that focused on programs, software and services that support access to and preservation of resources for scholarship.
